Forent Energy’s Western Canadian operations are focused primarily in central Alberta and central Saskatchewan. In the second quarter of 2011, Forent’s Western Canadian properties had production of just over 280 boe/d, weighted 70 percent to oil and natural gas liquids and 30 percent to natural gas.
In Saskatchewan, Forent is focussed on heavy oil production growth at its 100 percent working interest, operated Mervin property near Lloydminster, Saskatchewan. Mervin is located within a mature area with prior production from the Waseca formation, six metres pay thickness and existing infrastructure. Forent re-entered and re-perforated seven wells at Mervin in 2010, one of which has been converted to a water disposal well. Production from those wells average approximately 150 bbls/d. In addition, the Company’s onsite saltwater disposal well is equipped to accept significant volumes of third party saltwater.
In southern Alberta, approximately 30 km west of Claresholm, Forent has approximately 100% working interest in 27 nearly contiguous sections of high potential exploration lands (“Montgomery”). The Company shot a 23 section 3D seismic program over the lands in December 2010, the first time any significant seismic has ever been acquired. Multi zone potential for light oil and sweet gas exists in numerous formations and the Company has identified six primary locations targeting the Second White Specs and six additional locations with deeper Mississippian and Devonian targets. Forent is in discussions with a number of parties regarding joint venture participation at Montgomery and anticipates the first exploration well to spud during the fourth quarter of 2011.
