Remembering Our Founder, Dennis Forgeron
October 20, 1965 – August 5, 2010
Dennis Forgeron was the founder and CEO of Forent Energy Ltd. Dennis started his career in the upstream oil and gas industry in the late 1980s with Gulf Canada where he participated in a number of Arctic exploration wells drilled in the Beaufort Sea. He subsequently joined the Chevron Canada Engineering team where he coordinated production field activities.
Dennis then spent the next five years consulting both domestically and overseas, including in West Africa with Shell Gabon, and later with Canadian Occidental Petroleum in Yemen, before returning to Canada to manage various engineering projects for Crestar and Texaco.
Dennis founded Forent in 1999 and operated the Company from its inception. He grew the Company organically from internal cash flow, until the past decade when he initiated public capital raising and embarked on a multi-year commitment to find hydrocarbons onshore Nova Scotia. His passion to explore in Nova Scotia reflected both his childhood roots in that province and his adult vision of creating value for Forent shareholders and the people of Nova Scotia.
Dennis’ passion, vision and leadership were an inspiration to all those who knew him and had the privilege of working with him. Our goal at Forent is to fulfill Dennis' vision.
