Mr. Forgeron is the President and CEO of Forent Energy Ltd. and brings with him over 20 years of experience in both large and junior oil and gas companies. He started in the industry in the late 80’s with Gulf Canada drilling in the Beaufort Sea. From there he became part of the Chevron Canada Engineering team in Slave Lake, coordinating field activities for production enhancement.
Mr. Forgeron spent the next 5 years consulting both domestically and overseas, first in West Africa with Shell Gabon, and later with Canadian Occidental Petroleum on its Yemen assets, before returning his focus to Canada to manage various projects for Crestar and Texaco Canada.
Mr. Forgeron founded Forent in 1998 and has operated Forent from its inception steadily growing the company from revenues, avoiding dilution and bank debt.
Mr. Lester has 34 years in the energy industry in various capacities including government industry associations as well as private and public oil companies. Since 1994, Mr. Lester has been an independent businessman, involved with a variety of business and not-for-profit organizations. During this time he has been involved in the founding of two capital pool companies and the successful re-capitalization of a TSX oil and gas company which involved raising more than $100,000,000 from public markets. His roles have included board of director responsibilities, senior management, legal affairs, investor relations, project and corporate analysis, treasury and finance, and oil and gas liquids marketing.
Mr. Porter is Principal of Porter Valuations Inc., a specialty business valuation firm providing valuation and financial consulting services to a broad spectrum of private and public companies throughout Western Canada since 1997. He is also CFO and Director of Guatavita Gold Corporation, a private mining company focused on precious metals exploration in South America. Mr. Porter has over 20 years experience in accounting, business valuation and financial consulting. He has a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Calgary. He is a Chartered Accountant and Chartered Business Valuator. He is also a director and audit committee chairman of Manson Creek Resources Ltd. (TSXV).
Scott Reeves is a partner with a practice focused on securities, corporate finance and commercial transactions for emerging and growth companies and partnerships. He has advised numerous private and public corporations in a wide range of business matters including access to capital markets, corporate governance and operational issues.
He acts for a large number of TSX and TSX Venture Exchange-listed companies in a wide range of industries, including oil and gas, mining, technology, biotechnology and industrial issuers. Scott has extensive experience in private and public debt and equity offerings, corporate acquisitions of assets and shares, corporate restructurings and debt financing. He also acts a director and/or corporate secretary for many public and private companies, providing detailed corporate governance and continuous disclosure advice to his clients.
Scott has both law and bachelor of commerce degrees (with distinction) from the University of Alberta where he served as editor in chief for the Alberta Law Review. He has received numerous academic and community service awards and has published and lectured extensively in the areas of growth financing, stock exchange listing and corporate governance.
He has acted as a lead instructor for the Masters degree program in eBusiness from Osgoode Hall Law School and has taught advanced corporate finance and corporations law at the University of Alberta's Faculty of Law. Scott is also a member of the Alberta Advisory Board for the TSX Venture Exchange.
Scott is active in various community and professional organizations, including as a member of the National Advocacy Committee of the Canadian Diabetes Association and Chairman of the Canadian Bar Association (Alberta) Business Law subsection.
Mr Rousch appointed to the Company’s board of directors in March 2009. He is the principle of Cambria Energy Inc. a private investment firm involved in private equity investments.
With more than thirty five years energy experience primarily in the energy infrastructure sector, Mr. Rousch spent the first twenty-three years of his career in positions of increasing responsibility with Nova Corporation, Pan-Alberta Gas Ltd., Novagas Clearinghouse Ltd and Novagas Canada Ltd. From May 2000 to May 2003, Mr. Rousch was Senior Vice President of Emera Inc. a diversified energy and services company focused in Atlantic Canada and the Northeast United States.
Mr. Rousch is a native Albertan and obtained his Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering at the University of Calgary and is a member of Association of Professional Engineers, Geologists and Geophysicists of Alberta. Mr. Rousch is also a Director of ENTx Capital Inc. a private holding company specializing in electric power industry investments and Climate Change Central. Mr. Rousch served on numerous campaigns with the United Way in Calgary and Halifax continues to participate in strategic initiatives with the UWAY of Calgary.
Prior to joining Forent Energy in April 2007, Ian acquired fifteen years of experience as an interpreting geophysicist with EnCana evaluating hydrocarbon potential and selecting drilling locations in Western Canada, the Gulf of Mexico, the Middle East, and the Canadian East Coast. He brings to Forent very strong experience in hydrocarbon prospecting, new play evaluation, exploration strategy, risk assessment & portfolio management.
Brett is a significant investor in Forent Energy and a member of the Board of Directors.
An oil and gas veteran, Brett is a U of S trained engineer with an MBA from the U of C. He has enjoyed nearly three decades as an investment banker specializing in oil and gas transactions. He was a co-founder and partner at FirstEnergy Capital Corp., the energy industry’s leading investment bank. He is now Chairman of Prairie Merchant Corporation, a private merchant bank focused on business opportunities in the energy, agriculture, real estate, sports, and entertainment industries.
Brett has been honored with numerous awards during his career, including being ranked as one of Canada’s “Top 40 under 40”, Top 20 Deal Makers, and Top 10 M&A Specialists. He is a distinguished graduate of the U of C’s Faculty of Management and the U of S’s College of Engineering and has been recognized for significant contributions to the Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO) both at the regional and global levels. In 2008, he was named Alberta Venture Magazine’s Business Person of the Year.
Brett also enjoys a television career as one the panelists on the Juno award-winning CBC hit reality show Dragons’ Den.
